Minor League (10U) Details
Ages 9 & 10 (as of April 30th)
Players continue expanding on knowledge developed in I-Ball
Players at this level are beginning to understand the complexities of situational baseball.
Fun and learning are still the main emphasis, but the games have become more competitive at
this level. Outs are called and runs are scored.
Run limits of 5 runs per inning are instituted.
Played on a diamond with 60-feet between bases.
Kids begin pitching at this level. The mound is 46-feet from home-plate. Balls and strikes are
counted. Batters are called out at three strikes. Walks are called at four balls.
While stealing of bases is not allowed, runners are allowed to advance on passed balls.
Every player bats in the batting order regardless of how many players are on the team. Batting
order is not limited to the players playing in the field that inning.
Everyone plays at least 4 defensive innings (unless the bottom half of the inning is not played)
with 2 defensive innings in the infield.
Players are placed on teams by the league VP based on parental requests and in an attempt to
maintain a competitive balance and skill set across all teams.
Tournament Ball is played following the Spring season.
